The background
Even if you’ve used AI to draft content, every round of edits and feedback from different people makes it more likely that typos or grammatical errors will creep in.
A typo in the title doesn’t look great. And when a piece is littered with them or suffers from dodgy grammar, it distracts from your message and makes your brand look slapdash.
So before you send anything out into the world, get AI to check it. It’s quick, easy and can’t misread what you’ve written.
How to do it
In the video above, I talk through using AI to proof a spokesperson quote before sending it out.
1. Choose your model
Most LLMs will do a good enough job for a simple task like this.
Take a look at our AI Leaderboard to see how well different models handle different kinds of jobs.
2. Write your prompt
Keep it simple and just be clear about what you want the model to check for and how you’d like it to format its response.
For example:
Please proof this [insert copy type] for typos, spelling mistakes and grammatical errors in British English. List each item you find along with suggested corrections.
//
[Insert copy]
//
3. Quickly check the suggestions
AI’s a great assistant but don’t assume it’s always 100% correct. Context matters, and sometimes it might flag something you don’t want to change.
