Modern slavery policy
Definition is committed to understanding and mitigating all potential risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of its business operations, both within its own practices and through its global supply chains. We understand that modern slavery encompasses not only forced labour and human trafficking but also servitude, child labour, and the unlawful conditions that many millions of people worldwide are suffering from daily.
We strongly advocate for transparency and integrity in our practices. We accept our responsibility to protect, respect, and remedy any infringements on human rights we encounter in our field of influence, and we expect the same rigor in the observance of human rights from our partners, suppliers, and collaborators.
We operate in compliance with all relevant local and international laws and regulations, aligning with the principles of good governance, fairness, integrity, and respect for human dignity. We promote collective bargaining and encourage a reciprocal approach to working relationships, supporting the riddance of forced labour and child exploitation.
We encourage open communication and protection for whistle-blowers; every suspicion raised will be taken seriously and independently investigated, ensuring confidentiality and non-retaliation towards the whistle-blower. Inattention or non-compliance to our modern slavery policy and preventative measures can result in strict penalties, even up to termination of contracts.
We are resolved in our mission to contribute to the eradication of modern slavery, and in fulfilling our responsibility in creating ethical, sustainable, and fair business practices. We will regularly review the effectiveness of our policies, reaffirming our vehement commitment to respect human rights and contribute to the fight against modern slavery.
