Tone of voice
Your tone of voice isn’t about guidelines; it’s about people. Think of it as a behaviour change programme – a way to encourage everyone in your organisation to write in a consistently on-brand way.

Writing
The language you use shapes the way people think and feel.
Just ask Heston Blumenthal. Nobody ordered crab ice cream from one of his menus until he relabelled it frozen crab bisque – an instant hit.
We write anything and everything, using our behavioural science savvy to make the words meaningful, memorable and irresistibly nudgy.
Tone of voice
Your tone of voice isn’t about guidelines; it’s about people.
Think of it as a behaviour change programme – a way to encourage everyone to write in a consistently on-brand way.
We create AI-friendly tones of voice, then train your people (and your AI) to use them. Together they can make a massive impact on the quality and consistency of comms across your organisation. We’ve even built our own software that checks your tone as you write.
Training
People learn better if they enjoy it (fact: we’ve got the research to prove it).
Our training is partly about passing on the wisdom gathered from our combined century-or-so in the business writing game, but also partly about making sure your people have a great time in the process.
We’ll help you create a whole company of wordsmiths, focusing on topics like good writing 101, the intricacies of your tone of voice, storytelling, and AI prompting.
Naming
There’s no such thing as the perfect name.
But there’s an ocean of terrible ones to navigate before you get to something usable.
We come up with names that fit your brand and your brief, that are easy to say and spell, and that have a decent shot at surviving all the rounds of legal due diligence.
And we can run your frontrunners through customer research too, in case you need help making the big decision.
AI
If you want to get good writing out of AI, make sure a great writer does the prompting.
We put all our linguistic nerdiness into prompts that produce brilliant writing, like newsletters, social posts, and SEO-infused webpages.
We also train teams to prompt more effectively, using techniques from the likes of Google, Anthropic and OpenAI, as well as everything we know about writing clear, tangible instructions (something we’ve honed by producing dozens of tone of voice guidelines over the years).
