Impact Makers

Impact Makers is about noticing the unnoticed – recognising Definition people’s amazing ideas and efforts that sometimes fly under the radar.

Each quarter, we’ll pick one Impact Maker and give them £1,000 to spend on a passion project.

That might be self-development, a business idea, or a team project. Think of it as fuel for your creativity, curiosity or cause.

We’ll be picking from a list of nominations made by you.

So tell us if you, or a colleague, have done something that’s a little bit special. Like helping us win a client, lift team spirit, fix a process roadblock, solve a tricky problem, or just make life better for us all. It can be anything, big or small.

Our guest judges are:

These three judges will review entries and choose the first winner early next year.

Alexandra Fogal – Partner at EY, leader of the UK Entrepreneur Of The Year programme, and champion of entrepreneurs chasing big ambitions.

Rich Baker – Head of Europe STEP and UKIE Operations Communications at Amazon – 18 years’ experience driving engagement, transformation and clarity across major global organisations.

Martin Boddy – Entrepreneurial NED and Definition Chair. Data-driven with a knack for helping teams turn big ambitions into measurable results.

Impact Makers is open to everyone who works at Definition. To put yourself or a colleague forward, fill in the entry form. (We’re looking for individual rather than team nominations.)

Entries are open now, and we’ll be announcing this quarter’s winner in Jan.

The programme is open all year, with a winner every quarter.

We’re looking for things that spark innovation, show real teamwork, wow a client, raise our profile, or make life at Definition better. Bonus points if there’s a clear link to our values.

Each quarter there’s only one winner, but you can enter as many times as you like.

The judges will share who they’ve chosen and why, and we’ll also share the most highly commended entries from each quarter.

Each winner will get £1,000 to put towards a passion project. In our minds that’s likely to be self-development, a business idea, or a team project – but we’re open to ideas.

How you plan to spend your winnings isn’t part of the judging process, but we’ll be keen to hear afterwards how you used it.

Yes. We’ll share the highly commended entries at the quarterly Spotlight, and in the Inside Scoop. So even if you don’t win, your work gets shared and can spark more ideas.
